Come on a journey with Buona Forchetta UT to Italy and discover why Italy is one of the cuisine capitals of the world! Your tween/teen will be privileged to learn not only culinary skills, but also to partake of the authentic recipes of the Vinci family and learn vocabulary and a bit about the Italian culture. This camp is well thought out to give each student an educational experience that is unique and one of it’s kind! Kristin Petrucci has a degree in secondary education and is so excited to share with your tween/teens her family’s culinary heritage!
Tween/Teen Italian Cooking Camp July 17-20 2:00-4:00 Ages 10+
giorno (day) 1: Pizza! Pizza al taglio, Pizza by the Slice, in my opinion the best fast food ever invented! We will learn to make margherita pizza and try a couple unique flavors as well.
giorno 2: Antipasti! Fritti: We will be exploring the world of fried Italian appetizers! Learning the perfect frying batter is important and then making our own appetizer sampler dish to enjoy will be our goal! We will be frying up some delicious delicacies including sage leaves, apples, zucchini flowers if in bloom, and a few other surprises!
giorno 3: Pasta! We will be learning to make our own pasta all’uova (homemade egg pasta) we will then eat it with a simple sauce we will make as well.
giorno 4: Dolci! Gelato, and a surprise dessert is on the menu.
We will learn Italian vocabulary, and learn about fun differences about our culture and Italian culture. We will also eat, make friends, and each teen will come home with the recipes and ability to recreate what they learned!
